WHAT IS BIODIESEL?

• Biodiesel is an alternative fuel and fuel additive for use in all diesel engines. Biodiesel has been extensively researched, registered, and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)


• Biodiesel is made from soybean oil, vegetable oils and other natural ingredients. Rudolf Diesel invented the "Diesel" engine over 100 years ago, and designed it to run on pure vegetable oil.


• Biodiesel is non-toxic and biodegradable. Biodiesel is 10 times less toxic than table salt, and biodegrades faster than sugar!


• Biodiesel is clean-burning. Biodiesel significantly lowers emissions that produce smog and acid rain. Better air quality means better health for people and our planet.


• Biodiesel is a renewable fuel. Made from seed crops and animal fats grown by American farmers, Biodiesel is an "ever green" source of energy.


• Biodiesel is good for our nation's economy. Production and use of Biodiesel supports American agriculture and creates industry jobs, while decreasing our national dependence on finite supplies of foreign oil.

USING BIODIESEL

• Biodiesel can be used in any diesel engine without modification*. Just "pour and go"!


• *Biodiesel is a good solvent, and will clean out corrosion and carbon build-up in the fuel system, during initial use in blends of 20% and higher. This is normal, and can cause filter plugging. Change the fuel filter as needed until this effect subsides. The result with continued use of Biodiesel is a clean, well maintained fuel system.


• Biodiesel can be used by itself, or blended in any percentage with petroleum diesel. The percentage of Biodiesel in a blend is denoted as "B__". For example, B100 is 100% Biodiesel, B20 is 20% Biodiesel blended with 80% petroleum, B2 is 2% Biodiesel blended with 98% petroleum, etc.


• Biodiesel's performance is equivalent to petroleum diesel. More than 15 million miles of road tests show similar horsepower, torque, and fuel consumption with Biodiesel, compared to petroleum diesel.


• Biodiesel improves lubrication. Better lubricity means the engine runs cooler and quieter. Biodiesel used in any percentage can extend engine life by 1.5 to 2 times!
